Students Election Results: Chair and Vice Chair of IULI Student s’ Executive Board Duly Elected (IULI BEM) – Congratulations

The BEM (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa) election and subsequent inauguration at IULI (International University Liaison Indonesia) have ushered in a new era of student representation and engagement. From 3rd to 19th June 2023, students actively participated in the online election process through IULI’s Student Portal, showcasing their dedication to shaping the future of their university.

On Wednesday, 21st June 2023, the long-awaited inauguration ceremony took place, symbolizing the official transition of power to the newly elected BEM members. The ceremony was a blend of physical and virtual presence, with participants gathering both at the IULI Campus and through Zoom Meeting, embodying the spirit of inclusivity and adaptability.

The event commenced with a collective rendition of the national anthem, evoking a sense of pride and unity among the attendees. Mr. Tutun Nugraha, the respected Rector of IULI, delivered an impactful opening speech, highlighting the core values of accountability, transparency, and accessibility that will guide the new BEM.

The participants were divided into two groups: those who joined the inauguration in person on campus and those who participated virtually. This hybrid approach enabled students to engage with the proceedings regardless of their physical location, ensuring equal opportunities for involvement.

Behind the scenes, the dedicated KPU (Komisi Pemilihan Umum) team, led by Waraney from the INR 2020 batch, meticulously orchestrated the election and inauguration processes. Their meticulous planning and dedication contributed to the successful execution of the event, ensuring fairness and integrity throughout.

With the new BEM members assuming their roles, a renewed focus on communication and engagement is anticipated. The elected representatives, Shinta Jasmine from Mechatronic Engineering 2021 as the Chair of BEM and Sayidina Ali from Biomedical Engineering 2021 as the Co-Chair of BEM, are committed to establishing open channels of communication with their fellow students, encouraging feedback, and actively seeking input on matters that affect the student community. By prioritizing inclusivity and student-centric decision-making, they aim to create a nurturing and empowering environment that fosters growth and development.

It is crucial to recognize that BEM holds a pivotal position within the IULI community, serving as the backbone of student representation and advocacy. Through their efforts, BEM members play a crucial role in organizing events, nurturing a sense of belonging, and championing the collective interests of the student body.

The BEM election and inauguration reflect IULI’s commitment to democracy, student empowerment, and fostering an environment conducive to personal and academic growth. The university recognizes the vital role of student leadership in shaping the institution’s future and actively supports initiatives that promote student engagement and inclusivity.

As the newly elected BEM embarks on their journey, they carry the hopes and aspirations of the student body. Their dedication to integrity, passion, and positive change will drive them to make a lasting impact within the IULI community and beyond.

IULI and BEM are intertwined entities, working in harmony to create an enriching academic experience. Together, they strive to forge a future where students are active contributors, agents of transformation, and leaders who inspire positive change. The BEM election and inauguration at IULI represent a significant step towards realizing this vision, fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community that empowers students to reach their full potential.
