He added that in the concept of higher education system in Indonesia, the availability of campus facilities that will support the self-development of the students are crucial. This is true as campus life is not merely classes, libraries and laboratories, but should also support the establishment of a more rounded and balanced psychological growth of the students during the four year programs at the university. This include the availability of open space for the students to organize themselves into clubs and organizations, to play sports, to develop and explore their hobbies/passion into skills and experience that will support them to achieve their future career and dreams.
Finally, He also emphasized that, student body size of a university is important, citing that the government wishes to see that the average Indonesian universities have a minimal of 5000 students active on the campus. Moreover, he also pushes all universities to strengthen cooperation with outside institutions, including institutions outside Indonesia to improve the experience of the students prior to graduation for their readiness to join the workforce. Moreover, the merging of smaller universities into a larger one is highly encouraged an facilitated to increase competitiveness and quality of education of Indonesian universities, nationally and Internationally.
